Women who have undergone breast augmentation often worry about breast feeding. Myths that surround augmentation include the idea that women won’t have the ability to breast feed after the procedure. This myth has been busted time and time again, but another one has persisted: many women worry that breast-feeding after augmentation will cause their breasts to sag.

Mother Breastfeeding Baby In Nursery

Health24 just broke the news about a new study that debunks that fear as a myth. The study was created because researchers wanted to alleviate fears that breast augmentation causes women’s breasts to sag or changes their appearances in other ways. It is important that women understand that they can and should breast feed, regardless of whether or not they have implants, because breast-feeding is beneficial for a mother’s health and for her child’s.

Breast Augmentation Isn’t All About The Implant Anymore

There was a time that the terms “breast implant” and “breast augmentation” were interchangeable. That time has passed.

Now, breast augmentation can be performed more naturally, through fat transfer, which offers a number of benefits. Namely, by transferring fat from one part of the body to another, the likelihood that the body will accept the augmentation will increase.

The Study Confirmed That Breast Augmentation Does Not Disrupt The Breast Gland

The study looked at approximately 120 women and found that breast augmentation is not a contributor to sagging after breast-feeding. The researchers measured the participants’ breasts before pregnancy and one year after giving birth.

The change in breast size and sag did not vary between women who underwent augmentation and those who did not, verifying that the only contributors to breast sagging are the hormone changes that occur during pregnancy. The study also reiterated the fact that breast augmentation does not leave women unable to breast feed.

With new surgical advancements in the breast augmentation field, such as fat transfer and platelet-rich plasma, and with modern studies that disprove the myths surrounding the practice, it has never been a better time to get the body that you’ve always wanted.
